This Parent Privacy Notice explains, in a short and practical way, how Mogu Ltd. (“Company”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, shares and protects personal information in connection with use of the Mogu mobile application, or any web-based application of similar name owned by Mogu Ltd. (collectively, the “App”).
This notice is directed toward parents and legal guardians and describes information relating to our collection of child personal information. It is provided before you have shared any information about your child.
By selecting “I Agree”, “Continue”, “Create Child Profile”, or a similar confirmation mechanism, you represent that you are the child’s parent or legal guardian and consent to the collection, use, disclosure and processing of your child’s Personal Information as described in this Parent Privacy Notice and the Privacy Policy, to the extent required by applicable law.
1. Parent Managed App
The App is designed to help families manage household chores and tasks.
As the parent or legal guardian, you will manage your child’s profile. The App is designed for the child to use the App only through the child profile created by the parent or legal guardian.
2. Verification of Parental Consent
Before creating a child profile, we request confirmation that the person creating the profile is the child’s parent or legal guardian. Where required by applicable law, we will obtain verifiable parental consent before collecting, using or disclosing personal information relating to a child profile. We may use different methods to verify parental consent depending on the functionality of the App, the information collected and applicable legal requirements.
By creating a child profile and enabling child access, you confirm that you are the child’s parent or legal guardian and that you consent to collection of your child’s information in accordance with this privacy notice.
3. What Child Information May Be Collected?
Depending on the features used, we may collect or process the following information about a child:
(a) first name, nickname or display name;
(b) age range or year of birth, if needed for age-appropriate use;
(c) profile image, avatar or icon, if selected;
(d) chores, household tasks or routines;
(e) task completion status;
(f) points, badges, rewards or progress indicators;
(g) parent-created notes or instructions relating to chores;
(h) photos or images submitted as proof of completing a task; and
(i) limited usage information relating to operation of the child profile, such as task interactions, navigation events, feature usage and aggregated task statistics, solely to operate, maintain, secure and improve the App.
(j) limited technical, diagnostic or security information needed to operate, secure, debug or improve the App.
Please note the parent or legal guardian creates the child profile and provides the child profile’s information. The child may thereafter, where enabled by the parent or legal guardian, upload a profile image, submit task-completion photos, complete assigned chores and interact with App features available within the child profile.
4. Child-Submitted Images
The App may allow a child, where enabled or permitted by the parent or legal guardian, to take or upload images, including a profile image or a photo submitted as proof that a task was completed.
These images are used to provide the App’s family-account and task-completion features.
They are not used for behavioral advertising, retargeting, cross-app tracking, sale to data brokers or commercial profiling.
5. Camera and Notifications
The App may request camera and/or photo access so that a parent or child can capture or upload profile images or task-completion images.
The App may request notification permission to send reminders, task updates, family-account messages, service messages, security alerts or support messages.
The App does not use camera, photo or notification permissions for location tracking, surveillance, behavioral advertising or commercial profiling of children.
6. No Location Tracking
The App does not provide location tracking functionality.
The App is not intended to track the physical location of any parent, child or other user.
The App does not intentionally collect precise GPS location data.
7. Cookies, SDKs and Similar Technologies in Child Profiles
The App may use cookies, SDKs, local storage, device identifiers, analytics tools, crash-reporting tools and similar technologies. In the mobile version, these technologies may operate through the App itself rather than through a traditional web browser cookie.
On the child profile, we use these technologies only in a limited manner and for purposes that are necessary or appropriate to operate, protect and improve the App. These purposes may include authentication, maintaining the child’s session, remembering basic settings, enabling core App functionality, detecting and preventing misuse or security incidents, diagnosing technical errors, generating crash reports, and producing aggregated and, where reasonably practicable, de-identified internal analytics regarding App performance and functionality.
These technologies may collect limited technical information, such as device type, operating system, app version, log data, crash data, general usage events, and limited identifiers needed to operate and secure the App.
We do not use cookies, SDKs or similar technologies in a child profile for behavioral advertising, cross-app or cross-site tracking, profiling for advertising purposes, or selling or sharing a child’s personal information for advertising or marketing purposes.
Where we use third-party service providers for hosting, analytics, security, diagnostics or similar internal operational purposes, they are permitted to process information from a child profile only to provide services to us and not for their own independent advertising or profiling purposes.
We note that AppsFlyer, which we use to analyze our marketing campaign, will only collect information from the parent-facing portions of the App and not from those parts of the App authorized for use of the children in the children profile section. It will however receive information submitted by parent and collected from parent facing portion of the App regarding a task that was assigned or whether such task was completed.
Parents may contact us at the address listed herein to ask questions about our use of these technologies, to request access to or deletion of their child’s personal information, or to withdraw consent where applicable.
8. Advertising
Any advertising displayed within a Child Profile will be limited to age-appropriate, contextual advertising. We do not engage in behavioral advertising directed to children and do not use a Child’s Personal Information, persistent identifiers, or in-app activity to create profiles or deliver personalized advertisements. We also prohibit third-party advertising providers from collecting or using information from Child Profiles for interest-based advertising or for tracking children across websites, applications, or online services.
Any contextual advertisements displayed within child profiles are selected based on the content or context of the App and not based on the child’s previous activity, preferences or behavior.
9. In-App Purchases and Payments
The App may offer paid features, subscriptions or in-app purchases. Only a parent or legal guardian may authorise in-app purchases, subscriptions or paid features. Children cannot independently purchase paid features through the Child Profile.
Please see our full privacy policy for more information on collection of payment information.
10. Your Rights as a Parent or Legal Guardian
You may:
(a) review child profile information;
(b) correct child profile information;
(c) delete a child profile;
(d) delete child-submitted images or task-completion photos, where available;
(e) withdraw consent to further collection or use of a child’s information;

(g) manage or revoke a child’s access code; and

11. Account and Data Deletion
You may request deletion of your account, child profiles and associated personal information by using Settings > Account > Delete Account, by contacting us at hello@growmogu.com, or via our Delete Account page. Deleting the App from a device does not automatically delete the account or child profile.
Following receipt and verification of a deletion request, we will delete or de-identify the relevant personal information within a reasonable period, unless we are required or permitted by applicable law to retain certain information for legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, accounting, tax or enforcement purposes.
We retain personal information relating to child profiles only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the App, maintain the child profile, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, protect the security of the App and enforce our agreements. When personal Information is no longer reasonably necessary, we delete or de-identify it in accordance with our retention practices and applicable law.
12. International Transfers
Personal Information relating to your child may be processed outside the country in which you or your child are located. Where required by applicable law, we implement appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
13. Governing law
This Privacy Policy and disputes arising out or in connection with this Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Israel. However, where applicable privacy or data-protection laws in another jurisdiction provide users, parents, legal guardians or children with mandatory rights or protections, we will comply with those requirements to the extent they apply to such user’s use of the App.
