This Privacy Policy explains how Brown Panda Ltd. (“Company”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, shares and protects personal information in connection with Mogu or any web-based application of similar name owned by Brown Panda Ltd. (the “App”).

The App helps parents and legal guardians encourage children to participate in household chores and family tasks. The App is designed to be managed by a parent or legal guardian. Children may use the App only through a child profile set up by the parent or legal guardian.

For purposes of this Privacy Policy:

personal information” means information that identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked to an identified or identifiable individual. Unless expressly stated otherwise, “personal information” includes information relating to parents, legal guardians, children and other users.

child” means a user whose personal information is subject to child-specific or minor-specific privacy protections under applicable privacy law, including children under the age of 13.

1. Parent Controlled Use

1.1.

The App is designed for use under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

1.2.

A parent or legal guardian is responsible for: (a) creating and managing the account; (b) creating and managing child profiles; (c) deciding whether a child may use the App; (d) providing a child with any access code or access credential; (e) authorising any in-app purchases or paid features; and (f) exercising privacy rights in relation to the child’s information.

1.3.

By creating a child profile and enabling a child to use the App, the parent or legal guardian confirms that he or she has authority to do so and consents to such use as required by law.

1.4.

Our Parent Privacy Notice detailing information about the collection of personal information about your children through use of the App is provided before child-profile creation. It remains available at all times at https://growmogu.com/parent-privacy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1.

Parent Account Information: We may collect information provided by the parent or legal guardian, including: name; email address; phone number; login credentials or authentication information; account settings and preferences; support requests and communications; consents, approvals and confirmations provided through the App; and payment, subscription or purchase status, if applicable.

2.2.

Child Profile Information: A parent or legal guardian may create a child profile. Depending on the features used, this may include: first name, nickname or display name; age range or year of birth, if needed for age-appropriate use; avatar, icon or profile image, if offered and selected; chores, household tasks or routines; task completion status; points, badges, rewards or progress indicators; and parent-created notes or instructions relating to chores. Parents and legal guardians shall not submit sensitive information about a child.

2.3.

Child-Submitted Content and Images: The App may allow a child, where enabled by the parent or legal guardian, to submit limited content within the child profile, including: (a) the child’s name or nickname; (b) a profile image; and (c) photos, images, or other information submitted as proof of completing a chore or task. Child-submitted images are used to provide the App’s household task and progress features. They are not used for behavioural advertising, retargeting, cross-app tracking, sale to data brokers, or commercial profiling.

Parents and legal guardians are responsible for supervising the child’s use of image-upload or camera features.

2.4.

App Usage and Technical Information: We may collect limited technical and usage information, including: app version; device type; operating system; feature usage; app settings; crash logs; diagnostics; security logs; and technical events required to operate, secure and improve the App.

2.5.

Camera, Photos and Notifications: The App may request access to the camera and/or photo library, where enabled by the device and user, solely to allow a parent or child to capture or upload profile images or task-completion images.

The App may request permission to send notifications. Notifications may be used for task reminders, account activity, family-account updates, service messages, security alerts, support messages or other App-related communications.

The App does not use camera, photo or notification permissions for location tracking, surveillance, or behavioural advertising.

2.6.

Purchase Information: If the App offers in-app purchases, subscriptions or paid features, payments may be processed by Apple, Google, an app store or another payment provider in accordance with their privacy policies.

We may receive limited purchase-related information, such as: purchase status; subscription status; product or feature purchased; transaction reference; and information required to provide access to the purchased feature. We do not receive, collect or store payment card details.

2.7.

Analytics. In order to analyze our marketing campaign and analyze our app performance, we may also collect the following information: device identifiers; advertising identifiers; advertising clicks and impressions; referral/source information; and the following specified in-app events: Registration complete; Family member invited; Task created (by parent); Task completion approved (by parent); Paywall viewed; Initiate checkout; and Purchase/subscription. We do not use AppsFlyer under this Privacy Policy for broader in-app behavioural profiling or for any events beyond those listed above.

3. Information We Do Not Collect

3.1.

The App does not collect: government-issued identification numbers; information for behavioural advertising directed at children; information for retargeting children; or information for tracking children across apps, websites or services.

3.2.

The App does not provide location tracking functionality and is not intended to track the physical location of any parent, child or other user.

4. How We Use Information

4.1.

We use personal information to:

  • create and manage parent accounts;
  • create and manage child profiles;
  • provide access to the App;
  • allow chores and tasks to be assigned, displayed and managed;
  • show task completion and progress within the family account;
  • allow profile images and task-completion images to be submitted and displayed within the family console;
  • manage parent-controlled access codes;
  • send notifications, reminders, service messages and account alerts;
  • provide customer support;
  • process subscriptions, paid features and in-app purchases;
  • operate, maintain, secure and improve the App;
  • analyse App performance, crashes, diagnostics and aggregated feature usage in order to maintain, secure, troubleshoot and improve the App;
  • prevent fraud, misuse, unauthorised access and security incidents;
  • comply with legal obligations; and
  • enforce our Terms and Conditions.
4.2.

We do not use children’s personal information for behavioural advertising or interest based advertising.

5. Analytics and Diagnostics

5.1.

We may use analytics, diagnostics and crash-reporting tools, including Firebase, Google Analytics, Mixpanel or similar service providers, to operate, maintain, secure and improve the App. Where such tools are used in connection with Child Profiles, they will be configured, where available, to collect only information reasonably necessary for those purposes and not for behavioral advertising, advertising personalization, profiling, or cross-app or cross-site tracking.

5.2.

These tools help us understand App performance, identify bugs and crashes, maintain security, improve reliability, evaluate aggregated feature usage, detect misuse, and improve the functionality and user experience of the App.

5.3.

We do not use analytics or diagnostic information from child profiles to build behavioral profiles, provide interest-based advertising, retarget users, track children across apps, websites or online services, or for any other advertising purpose prohibited by applicable law. Additional information regarding analytics relating to child profiles is provided in our Parent Privacy Notice.

5.4.

We use AppsFlyer to measure the performance of our marketing campaigns. For this purpose, we limit the in-app events we send to AppsFlyer to the following events only: Registration complete; Family member invited; Task created (by parent); Task completion approved (by parent); Paywall viewed; Initiate checkout; and Purchase/subscription. We do not use AppsFlyer under this Privacy Policy for broader in-app behavioural profiling or for any events beyond those listed above. AppsFlyer will collect information only from parent facing portion of the App.

6. Advertising and Marketing Technologies

6.1.

The App may use advertising or marketing technologies only where consistent with this Privacy Policy, our Cookie Policy, applicable law, and applicable app-store requirements. Any advertising displayed within child-accessible areas of the App, if any, will be limited to age-appropriate contextual advertising and will not involve behavioral advertising, advertising personalization, retargeting, cross-app or cross-site tracking, or profiling of children.

6.2.

Where applicable law requires consent for advertising technologies or similar tracking technologies, such consent will be requested from the parent or legal guardian and not from the child.

Additional information regarding advertising practices applicable to Child Profiles is provided in our Parent Privacy Notice.

7. When We Share Information

7.1.

We do not sell personal information of children.

7.2.

We may disclose limited personal information, including personal information relating to child profiles where reasonably necessary to provide, operate, maintain, secure and improve the App, to the following categories of recipients: (a) cloud hosting and infrastructure providers; (b) analytics, diagnostics and crash-reporting providers; (c) customer support providers; (d) security, fraud-prevention and identity verification providers; (e) app stores and payment providers; (f) other service providers solely as described in this Privacy Policy and only to the extent permitted by applicable law and applicable platform requirements. Personal Information from child profiles will not be disclosed for behavioral advertising, personalised advertisement, retargeting, cross-app or cross-site tracking, sale to data brokers, commercial profiling or any other prohibited advertising purposes; (g) our professional advisers; (h) governmental authorities, courts, law enforcement agencies or regulators where required or permitted by applicable law.

7.3.

Our service providers may process personal information only as necessary to provide services to us, operate, maintain and secure the App, perform analytics, diagnostics and crash reporting, process payments, provide customer support, detect fraud, or otherwise perform the services for which they have been engaged. They are contractually required to protect personal information in accordance with applicable law and may not use personal information from child profiles for behavioral advertising, advertising personalization, profiling, retargeting, cross-app or cross-site tracking, or any other prohibited purpose. Where we use analytics tools in connection with child profiles, we configure them, where available, to limit collection and prohibit use for advertising personalization, behavioral advertising, retargeting, cross-app or cross-site tracking, or profiling.

8. Parental Rights and Controls

8.1.

Parents and legal guardians may: review child profile information; correct child profile information; delete a child profile; withdraw consent to further collection or use of a child’s information; request deletion of a child’s personal information; manage or revoke a child’s access code; and contact us regarding the child’s privacy rights.

8.2.

We may take reasonable steps to verify that a requester is the relevant parent or legal guardian before acting on a request.

9. Account and Data Deletion

9.1.

Parents and legal guardians may delete their account and associated Child Profiles at any time through Settings > Account > Delete Account, where available, or by contacting us at hello@growmogu.com. If they cannot access the app, they can also request deletion through our Delete Account page. Deleting the App from a device does not automatically delete the associated account or personal information. To delete your account and associated personal information, you must use the account deletion functionality within the App or contact us using the contact details provided in this Privacy Policy.

9.2.

Following receipt and verification of a deletion request, we will delete or de-identify the relevant personal information within a reasonable period, unless we are required or permitted by applicable law to retain certain information for legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, accounting, tax or enforcement purposes.

10. Data Retention

We retain Personal Information only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by applicable law.

In general:

  • Parent Account Information is retained while the account remains active.
  • Child Profile Information is retained while the relevant Child Profile remains active.
  • Child-submitted images and task-completion images are retained while necessary for the relevant App functionality or until deleted by the parent or legal guardian, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
  • Purchase and transaction records may be retained as required for accounting, taxation, fraud prevention and legal compliance.
  • Customer support records may be retained for support, legal and security purposes.
  • Analytics, diagnostics and crash-reporting information is retained only for the period reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected.

We periodically review retained personal information and delete or de-identify information that is no longer reasonably necessary for these purposes.

11. Security

11.1.

We implement organisational, technical and administrative measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, destruction, loss, alteration or misuse.

11.2.

No data transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be fully secure. Parents and legal guardians are responsible for keeping account credentials and child access codes confidential.

11.3.

If you believe your interaction with us is no longer secure, please contact us immediately.

12. International Transfers

We may process and store personal information in countries other than the country in which a user is located. Where required by applicable law, we implement appropriate safeguards for international transfers, including standard contractual clauses, adequacy decisions, data transfer agreements, or other lawful transfer mechanisms. We also require our service providers to protect personal information in accordance with applicable law and their contractual confidentiality, security and data protection obligations.

13. Legal Bases for Processing

13.1.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis for processing, we rely on one or more of the following:

  • performance of a contract, to provide the App to the parent or legal guardian;
  • consent, including parental consent where required;
  • legitimate interests, such as operating, securing and improving the App;
  • compliance with legal obligations; and
  • protection of rights, safety and security.
13.2.

Where we rely on consent, the relevant parent or legal guardian may withdraw that consent at any time, subject to applicable law and the consequences of withdrawal for continued use of the App.

14. User Rights

14.1.

Depending on applicable law, users may have rights to:

  • access personal information;
  • correct inaccurate personal information;
  • delete personal information;
  • restrict or object to processing;
  • withdraw consent;
  • request data portability; and
  • lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.
14.2.

To exercise these rights, please contact us at hello@growmogu.com and provide your name, contact information, jurisdiction, and details of your request. We may take reasonable steps to verify your identity and authority before responding.

15. App Store and Platform Disclosures

We aim to ensure that our Privacy Policy, Google Play Data Safety disclosures, Apple App Privacy details, age-rating information, and app-review submissions accurately reflect how the App collects, uses, shares, and protects information. We also aim to keep these disclosures consistent with the App’s permissions, SDKs, analytics, crash-reporting tools, advertising settings, in-app purchases, account deletion process, and child-safety features. If our data practices materially change, we will update this Privacy Policy and any required app-store disclosures.

16. Third-Party Services

16.1.

The App may contain links to third-party websites, services, app stores, payment providers, or other external resources. These links are provided for convenience only. We do not control those third-party services, and their collection, use, and disclosure of personal information are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Parents and legal guardians should review those terms and privacy policies before using such third-party services.

16.2.

Where required by applicable law or platform policies, external links from Child Profiles may be restricted, blocked, or made available only through parental controls or a parent-facing area of the App.

17. Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the App, such as by an in-app notice, pop-up, account message, parent dashboard notice, or other prominent notice before or when the changes take effect.

Where required by applicable law, we will also obtain parental consent before applying material changes to the collection, use, or disclosure of Personal Information from child accessible areas of the App.

The “Last Updated” date at the top of this Privacy Policy indicates when it was last revised.

19. Governing Law.

This Privacy Policy and disputes arising out or in connection with this Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Israel. However, where applicable privacy or data-protection laws in another jurisdiction provide users, parents, legal guardians or children with mandatory rights or protections, we will comply with those requirements to the extent they apply to such user’s use of the App.
